The Potomac Baptist APRIL
2008
Psalm 1
1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
that
bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his
leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the
chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the
judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the
righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Bay St. Louis, MS

A mission team of 11
people from the PBA joined people from other states in Bay St. Louis, MS
from February 23 to March 1 to continue the repairing and rebuilding of
homes damaged and destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The PBA team included
Emily Howard/Bayside (not pictured), and her parents, Mike & Sandra
Vega from Florida, Mary Joyner/Whitehall, Donald Pitts/Hughesville, Mike
Humphreys/Dunkirk, Greg Grosso/Dunkirk, Shari Grimes/FBC Welcome, Barry
Write/FBC Welcome, and Richard & Penny Gold/Grace. This was the
third mission trip from the PBA to go to Bay St. Louis - but not the
last!
The PBA group was assigned three
different projects. The first team worked to complete a room in a
rebuilt house. They finished it quickly and at the request of the
property owner, they completed some additional jobs. The second team,
headed by Mr. Vega, worked on two houses to fix and install plumbing.
The first house was one that mission teams from the PBA had worked on in
the past. A tub/shower unit was installed, a job that required removing
a portion of one wall in order to place it in the rather small bathroom.
Old and corroded plumbing was replaced.
After completing this job, the team
went to the second house, a new construction. The work here was to
install the drainage and water systems in the house for the kitchen and
bathroom. When the team left, the drainage system and water piping were
ready for county inspection.
There is still much work to be done in
the Bay St. Louis area. Each team, each mission trip, each person can
and does make a difference. We are there to do the work of the Lord
helping our brothers and sisters in need as we share the love of Christ.
